Description
From the ground up this Dueling Tree is far superior to other designs on the market. That isn’t just sales pitch material, we mean it. We knew that the market was filled with dueling trees made from mild steel with AR500 paddles, but we also knew shooters needed something more. This market was hungry for a Dueling Tree that could handle anything from center fire pistols to calibers like 308 winchester. We started with the goal to create just that and it landed us here, to our Rifle Dueling Tree.
One of the first things we want to point out about our system that differentiates it entirely from other competitors is the fact that it comes armored up. No upgrade required. The deflector shield of the Rifle Dueling Tree is made from 1/4″ AR500 steel, and is also angled forward to dispel fragmentation. The gussets are also 1/4″ AR500 steel for longevity. The target paddles are made from a seriously strong 3/8” AR550 Steel! This means longer life, closer distance shooting, and an overall better value to our customer. The Rifle Dueling Tree is offered standard with our signature 20″ round base which keeps 360 degrees of contact with mother earth. It’s kind of like a bear hug for the ground. We built it specifically to handle heavy rifle use, and it takes the beating like a champ! This is not a typical Dueling Tree that was labeled “rifle use”. We specifically engineered this target to outperform and outlast every other dueling tree on the market. If your Dueling Tree uses mild steel for the upright it is not Rifle Rated. Period.
Also note that this system MUST be set up on leveled ground to remain the most stable. If ground is not level enough, we recommend purchasing tent stakes or something similar to stake through a few of the base holes for added support or considering our Arachnid base for ultimate stability. Here is a breakdown of the paddle options:
-Option #1, Reduced Paddles: This is our recommended paddle size for most people. These paddles have a target area that measures 5″ x 5″. This is the smallest size paddle we offer and because of that it works really well with anything from centerfire pistols (9mm, .40 S&W, 45 ACP) to Light Rifle Calibers (.223/5.56 NATO, .300 blackout, 7.62×39). These paddles can be used with pistols at 10 yards. Our customers can enjoy their Light Rifle Calibers at 50 yards with these paddles when using proper ammunition. These are by far the most versatile paddle and are specifically designed for people who are shooting lighter calibers.
-Option #2, 308 Paddles: Here they are: The big bore paddles. These are the latest generation of 308 paddles for our Rifle Dueling Tree. They are made from 1/2″ AR550 and have a strike face that is approximately 6″ Tall x 5″ wide. This is a slightly larger strike area than the Reduced paddles but equally challenging at distance with bolt action or DMR style rifles. If you are a marksman who enjoys shooting calibers like .308 or 6.5 CM, this is definitely a paddle you should consider. The fact that we make these paddles out of our legendary 1/2″ AR550 steel means you will be able to hammer on these paddles for years to come. Whether you are a backyard marksman getting ready for hunting season, or a leader of a SWAT team or other unit looking to further the skillset of your sniper team, these paddles will offer you continued value for the long haul.
Along with a few paddle options, we also have a few base options to consider.
-Option #1 (standard option): This is our standard option for the Rifle Dueling Tree. It perfectly balances stability, ease of use, and investment cost. It also can be used to hold 1×2 furring strips to shoot paper targets when you are not using your Rifle Dueling Tree upright. There are holes around the base for staking if you are shooting on terrain that is not level.
-Upgrade Option #2: This is our 26″ Round base. It is very similar to our 20″ base. It is simply a much larger footprint. It is a little more expensive, but offers a larger footprint to keep your Rifle Dueling Tree stable. We recommend this base for higher volume shooters or departments who shoot at distance and want more stability, but not a ton of extra expense.
PLEASE NOTE: This system is not designed to work with the Arachnid Armored Base.
What changed with the Rifle Dueling Tree? As of September 11, 2019, we have revised our Rifle Dueling Tree system. What does this mean? It means our Rifle Dueling Tree has been made more compact, stronger, and with more options to the end users. Our 308 paddles are now made from 1/2″ AR550. The overall length of the Tree is 9″ shorter than previous models. This helps our customers fit the tree into more compact vehicles and makes it easier to setup on the range. We are always trying to find innovative ways to refine our lineup and offer more value to our customers.

Christmas present review!
I bought this for me and my husband 1st Christmas as a married couple and he loved it! He actually already has the A-DAP Target System that my parents bought him last Christmas and he loves that one as well! For Christmas last year the target my mom ordered was out of stock and TATargets actually upgraded the steel he was suppose to get so he could have it for Christmas which I thought was so generous! These targets are very well made and their customer service is out of this world as you can tell! He already wants me to get him the falling tree target next and he said that one day he will own all the targets that TATargets makes because of how great these targets are made! We love you guys! Keep up the good work!

Great for transition training
Seriously. If I am looking for a new steel target, there is only one company I consider and it’s TA Targets. I have this dueling tree (among others) and it is a solid target with a great design. It’s a TON of fun to shoot with a friend or even use it solo to help practice transitions. I highly recommend it.

Dualing tree
Never had so much fun while honing skills .. The excitement of changing out mags while 5 are on the other side and making that last hit… The quality is excellent . Have had many others over the last 15 years and these are the best.. Pete
