Description

Grounder Portable Steel Target

The Grounder Portable Steel Target is our addition to the world of high class, ultra-portable steel targets. The Grounder is devised from a single piece plate. Additionally, two legs “scissor” into position, through the plate, effectively locking the unit together. Even further, a pin in each leg is installed behind the target plate, allowing seamless transport and movement. The Grounder targets are low to the ground, encouraging a more downward angle of fire on shooting ranges. Further, this keeps the rounds impacting low and into the target or the protective berms of your shooting range.

The Grounder target plate maintains minimal contact between the legs and plate, resulting in a beautiful acoustic ring with every successful impact. Additionally, for transport, the Grounder target legs may be folded and pinned into a collapsed form. The target plate also features a grab handle. The entire premise of this target is portability without the need for wood or metal posts.

AR500 and AR550 Offerings

The Grounder Target is offered in two variations currently. The legs are always manufactured from 1/4″ AR500 steel. For those of you who want to spend less on your target, we offer the Grounder with an AR500 plate dubbed the Grounder 500. Additionally, we offer this AR550 variant of the Grounder strike plate for those of you who demand the utmost in performance.  You will see that the Grounder 500 comes with a limited warranty, much like our Genesis AR500 Target Systems. The Grounder 550 comes with a LIFETIME one replacement warranty of the strike plate! Peace of mind is included with your purchase knowing we have your back. Further, if you EVER have issues with your strike plate, simply notify us and we’ll get you back into action fast. But don’t worry: The Grounder is built for hard use in mind and is built to last.

Material Origins

The Grounder Legs are all produced from Domestic AR500 steel. Additionally, the legs are 1/4″ Thick. The Grounder 500 target plate is also domestic AR500 and is 3/8″ Thick. The Grounder 550 utilizes our PREMIUM AR550 Armor for the strike plate. The best of the best material. No, the “other guys” aren’t running the same material.

Built for discerning shooters

The Grounder 500 and Grounder 550 targets are built for discerning shooters. If you find yourself traveling to your range often, this is the perfect system for you. Additionally, the Grounder is very light (Approximately 44 Pounds Assembled), and packs down to a minimal size. There are only three assemblies to keep track of: (2) sets of legs, and (One) Target Plate. The Target Plate Weighs approximately 24 pounds, the two sets of legs weigh approximately 20 pounds together. Additionally, the Grounder targets feature an aggressive 20 degree forward lean, effectively directly fragmentation to the ground. Further, the legs are designed in such a way as to resist wear and tear from fragmentation. Additionally, the feet of the legs are designed to “bite” into the ground, creating an ultra-stable platform.

High Volume, Hard Use Approved

Whether you are a backyard shooter, or a high volume range running a jungle course, the Grounder Delivers. Further, this aggressive, compact system is ready to serve you for many years to come. Purchase one of the most versatile systems money can buy.

Frequently asked Questions:
1.) Is this just another 3 Piece Target Spinoff?

Answer: No, this is an entirely unique system. While there are MANY targets attempting to do what the Grounder does, the Grounders do it to a whole different level. Better design, better components, and better warranty. In every way, the Grounder exceeds the competition. Further, we utilize a completely novel approach to the design and attachment of the legs versus other systems, further positioning the Grounder Targets as a different class of target system.

The Grounder looks different, sounds different, is manufactured differently, utilizes different materials, and interlocks in a totally unique way versus all other comparable targets from other manufacturers.

2.) What is the finish of the Grounder?

Answer: Your Grounder Target will ALWAYS  arrive powder coated. We don’t believe in sending you gross, rusty, crusty targets. Powder coat is an inexpensive step to add protection and elegance to your system. Grounder 500 plates are powder coated mineral bronze. The Grounder 550 target plate is powder coated white. The Grounder Legs are always the same color: Grey Beige (Tan).

3.) What is the country of Origin?

We manufacture all our systems right here in SE Pennsylvania. The Grounder 500 Target Plate is manufactured from Domestic AR500 material. Additionally, the Grounder legs are also produced from AR500. The Grounder 550 Target Plate is our LEGENDARY Swedish AR550 armor. Second to none, built for high performance.

4.) Which version should I purchase?

Answer: You should first establish your end uses. If you mostly shoot pistols, the Grounder 500 is perfect. Further, if you are OK shooting rifles at further distances, the Grounder 500 is a fantastic fit. The Grounder 550 really shines for higher volume applications at closer distances. If that sounds like you, spend the extra money, get the Grounder 550, and never look back. If budget is your primary concern, the Grounder 500 will check your boxes.

5.) I own a professional range, is the Grounder a good fit?

Answer: Simply put: Yes! Although for your professional facility, because you cannot completely control ALL rounds sent downrange, we recommend 100 yards minimum for standard rifles. If you can 100% ensure that ALL ammo is proper, you can utilize the closer distances. Otherwise, 100 yards is the best bet.

6.) Why is there a price difference?

Answer: Two reasons. First of all, the AR550 material is substantially more expensive than Domestic AR500. Second, you are paying for higher performance and a guarantee that if it fails under proper use, you get a free replacement strike plate. Peace of mind comes easy with the Grounder 550 system.
