What is the Panobridge?
The Panobridge is a very unique piece of gear that was initially designed to allow users to run two PVS-14 units but experience nearly double the field of view. The panobridge is manufactured from advanced polymers. It is designed in a way that allows users to mount all commonly found AN/PVS-14 units. This creates a sort of panoramic binocular hybrid.
Our experience with the PanoBridge:
We will shoot straight with our customers: If we had to choose the panobridge or a set of our BNVD’s, in most cases the BNVD’s are the best bang for your buck. When you factor in the cost of two PVS 14’s, the cost of the panobridge, and the cost of a helmet mount, the BNVD’s often make the most sense. With that being said, we really like the panobridge for several reasons:
- The panobridge allows users to build up their own binos but with a larger field of view.
- Users can run nightvision and thermal simultaneously. This has some drawbacks and we usually run one or the other, not both eyes at the same time. It is possible, but typically nightvision is for walking, thermal is for scanning
- Users can purchase and extra MH rail adapter ( HERE ) and run dual MH25 thermal units. Talk about super powers.
- It is a cost effective and unique item that fills a void for certain individuals
While the panobridge is certainly not for everyone, it is perfect for the right people. If you find yourself wanting nightvision and thermal, or want to run dual MH25’s, this is an option that is readily available. If you simply want binocular night vision and have the budget, we would generally steer you towards BNVD’s or other forms of binocular nightvision.
