The Mini A-DAP System is a reduced C Zone target system that is manufactured from our AR550 steel. This system is available in both 3/8″ and 1/2″ AR550, and our 1/2″ AR550 version features our LIFETIME warranty. No other company offers that.

Each and every target plate is manufactured from our hand selected AR550 that meets our minimum hardness requirements. We track each and every plate and place a serial number and lot number behind the CNC formed angles behind the target plate.

The Mini A-DAP target was designed specifically to offer shooters more accountability than our C Zone A-DAP system. The reduced C Zone shaped plate is 33% smaller than a C Zone target and measures approximately 8″Wx16″H. This size is extremely efficient for us to produce, which means the prices are aggressive and affordable. This sized target plate is also fairly small which forces solid fundamentals and stresses accountability. There is a reason the Reduced C Zone Mini A-DAP system is our most popular target system to date. Thousands upon thousands of these systems exist all over the world. For good reason: Nothing comes close to our A-DAP system.

What makes the A-DAP family of targets so special?

The A-DAP 2.0 target system features an adjustable angle bracket that allows various degrees of forward lean. This lean is steeper and more versatile than our previous generations of A-DAP steel target systems which results in an even more well-rounded system for target connoisseurs. This laser cut, precision formed set of brackets allows nearly 45 degrees of lean with our C Zone target system and nearly 40 degrees of lean with our Mini A-DAP system. Our users can now choose the best lean for their needs and target presentation requirements. These systems now also feature a revised A-DAP top bracket that has been extended almost 2″ to allow more movement of the steel plate when impacted. Users can continue to couple their existing hostage accessories with this system. This is total compatibility with older accessories. This step in the evolution of our A-DAP AR550 Steel Target Systems is a pivotal moment in our history as we further define what it truly means to create the ultimate steel target systems and components.

Why Choose the Mini A-DAP system over others?

The Mini A-DAP (Reduced C Zone) steel target system offers more accountability for shooters. The Mini A-DAP is also extremely audible when struck, which means shooters can immediately tell when shots have been successful. The reduced size of the target plate is very close to an A Zone Target. In other words: Training on this target system means you are more accountable and training to a higher standard. This is how you build refined skills.

  • We see your team shooting these targets much closer than recommended? Can we shoot closer?
    • Answer: Negative. Much of what we do is substantial abuse testing for QC and R&D of new and existing systems. Always follow our recommended distances for training. While shooting closer often does not pose a safety threat, it is harder on the systems. Users will potentially increase wear and tear with leads to unsafe targets when misused.
  • Does this system feature adjustable lean angles?
    • Answer: Yes. Our CNC formed brackets offer 3 levels of lean. The steepest setting (bottom hole) allows nearly 40 degrees of forward lean.
  • Does this system work with my current hostage assembly?
    • Answer: YES! The Mini A-DAP works with ALL A-DAP system accessories, including the hostage, armored posts, arachnid base.
  • Is this system covered under your warranty?
    • Answer: Yes! Any of our 3/8″ AR550 systems have a 1 year strike plate warranty. If something cracks or breaks prematurely, we’ll replace it so long as it was used properly. We take immense pride in how we treat and stand by customers. This system is absolutely no different. You are purchasing the highest quality systems from us and they will perform as such. 1/2″ AR550 systems feature our lifetime warranty. For FULL details please see our warranty page on the site.
  • I already have a base and A-DAP top bracket or armored post, can I buy the Mini A-DAP target plate separately?
    • Answer: Yes. Go into our “individual products” section of the website.
  • Where are these products produced?
    • Answer: We produce our products in Lancaster County PA. We oversee every step of the process, QC, production, packaging, and shipping. From start to finish, TA Targets is manufacturing high quality systems for hard use. Our owners own the machinery, facility, equipment, etc. We have invested heavily in newer specialty equipment to further streamline our processes and increase quality even further.
  • Is the Armor Plating on the targets US material?
    • Answer: No. The “armor” we use for the strike plates (actual target impact plates) is made from a proprietary material that is manufactured for us in Sweden. this is the best material we have found in the world. We were largely dissatisfied with the QC of American made strike plates and had too many issues with quality control. Eventually we hope a US manufacturer creates a material that is as available and as stringent as our Swedish plate. For now, this is the best material to service our customers. US Manufactured AR500 and AR550 is used in areas that are NOT main strike plates. Some examples of this are the Rifle Dueling Tree Shields, Plate Rack Shields, Arachnid front shield and hostage brackets.
  • Where does the rest of the steel come from?
    • Answer: Traditionally all other steel used in our systems is US origin. During the “covid pandemic” the supply chain has experienced extreme pressures. Under some circumstances some of our tube steel and angle had to be purchased from Canadian raw materials. We do our absolute best to minimize this, not because of quality concerns, but because we deeply desire to produce our products from US steel. We will not use Chinese steel plate, angles, or tubes. Rest assured.
