Description
Single Hole Gong Mount
The Single Hole Gong Mount is a mount that allows attachment of any of our Genesis Steel Targets to a 2X4 post. These components make up the Single Hole Gong Hanger:
- (One) Breakdown Base Tube
- (One) Bent bracket with hole to mount gong
- (One) 1/2″ X 2.5″ Grade 8 Carriage bolt (yellow zinc finish)
- (One) Custom Compression Spring
- (One) locking nut to secure the gong to the bracket
- (One) Breakdown Base Tool for disassembly or assembly
Utilizing a single mounting surface and point creates a simpler, more streamlined system for production and training. This bracket allows shooters to invest in more steel targets to create a vast array of training drills. Although they are less expensive than our Exodus line of steel targets, the Genesis Steel Targets are purpose built for serious use. If used properly this single hole mount will last your lifetime. The yellow zinc grade 8 bolt and plated spring and nut ensure your system stays rust free for many years to come.
What are the benefits of the Single Hole Gong Mount?
You may just be starting out, or you may shoot every single weekend. No matter your skill, you will find a benefit in training with Genesis Steel Targets. We bend every bracket to perfection using a CNC Press Brake. Installation of the components and parts takes seconds. You will appreciate the use of the standard Breakdown base tube for 2X4 posts. Additionally, we tap 3/8″-16 holes to accommodate thumb screws. You will be in action in seconds without tools. The spring and bolt assembly allows for some swing movement of the plate and the spring keeps the movement consistent.
Powder coated finish for longevity and good looks
Powder coating the brackets keeps the end product clean and free of dirt or rust. Nobody wants to unpack a new target system only to see nasty rust and grime. Powder coating the bracket ensures resistance to weather and corrosion. You don’t have to fear premature wear and tear due to rust and corrosion. Each part is Laser cut to perfection and then CNC press brake fit.
Further value for all shooters.
Accidental damage happens sometimes. Peace of mind comes from knowing maintenance is simple and inexpensive. In the event that your bracket experiences a stray round or damage simply purchase replacement components. The 2X4 tube can easily be replaced with basic hand tools (or the included breakdown base tool).

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1.) What makes the Single Hole Gong Hanger Stand Out?
- Anyone looking to just get into their first target system should consider this single hole bracket for their target plates. This mount gives a secure, stable, and consistent mounting method that ensures safety and performance.
2.) Will this mount work with the A-DAP Target Plates from the Exodus Line of Targets?
- No! Only the Genesis Steel Target Plates are compatible with this bracket. A-DAP target plates WILL NOT function with this bracket!
3.) Will you need tools?
- You will need at least an open end wrench. Additionally, you can use a 3/4″ Socket for the 1/2″ Carriage bolt and a 7/16″ Socket for the 3/8″ carriage bolts.
4.) Is this bracket safe?
- Yes! The Single Hole Gong Mount will ensure your gongs have ample forward lean. Additionally, the single hole and spring combination will ensure energy is deflected downward towards the ground.
5.) What Distance Can I shoot the Genesis target systems at?
- Please read the entire Genesis User Manual to understand the distance limitations of these plates/systems. Generally speaking Genesis steel targets can be engaged as close as 10 yards with pistols. With rifles UNDER 3,000 FPS muzzle, they can be used at 100 yards. Again, please FULLY read your user manual PRIOR to using any Genesis Steel Targets.
6.) What Is The Country Of Manufacture?
- We manufacture these right here in SE PA. We source the materials locally from the USA . Standard steel (not armored) keeps the cost reasonable while the design creates a consistent and robust mounting method without overcomplicating the system.
7.) Which is better: The Genesis Systems or the Exodus Systems?
- This question will be difficult to answer. For most people that just train occasionally, the Genesis line of steel targets will be the perfect place to start. You will find that these systems are affordable and still offer a ton of value to every customer. As with all our systems, if you use it properly it will serve you likely forever. The Exodus line is our premium line. It is THE standard for which all steel targets are measured. If you are a higher volume shooter, you may want to check out the Exodus Line of Steel Targets.Engage the Exodus Line of Steel Targets at close range with confidence. Additionally, they feature a bit higher grade of steel.
8.) Is adjustable forward lean really that important?
The Genesis Line of Steel Targets do NOT feature adjustable forward lean. If you desire an adjustable lean angle, you should consider the Exodus Line. The Exodus line of targets all feature adjustable lean angles, which means systems are able to be adjusted to suit your needs. Additionally, this ensures high performance at closer distances with rifles.
9.) Does This Product Fall Under Prop. 65 Warnings?
- Maybe. Just in case, be sure not to eat the paint or lick the target before or after you’ve shot it. If you are just curious, led tastes horrible and will probably cause mental damage. If you have done it once you are likely to do it again. Handle at your own risk, if you choose, you may wear an industry grade hazmat suit and gas mask with a HEPA filter and good luck charm on your wrist.
