Grounder Portable Target Stand
The Grounder Portable Target Stand is here, and it is destined to make a wave in the industry. It is fast to setup, requires no tools, and will outperform others like it on the market. Let’s talk about this revolutionary addition to our lineup of Portable AR500 and Portable AR550 shooting targets and steel target stands.
Better than other options on the market
There are MANY portable targets similar to this on the market. None are manufactured by your friends here at TA. We take targets seriously. And this target fills a void that we have in our own lineup. What you are looking at right now is what we have had in our back pocket for some time. A better, more capable, stronger system than anything else like it on the market. At least, that’s what we think. But we’ll let the product speak for itself over time.
Simple, Fast, and Ready to Rock and Roll.
The objective of your training / shooting days is simple. You want to train efficiently, and you desire to use your time wisely. Additionally, you want your gear to perform exactly as it should, shot after shot. The Grounder 500 and Grounder 550 deliver unsurpassed value for those who desire these things. The Grounder consists of two folding legs, and a single piece target plate. Instead of open ended slots that allow the legs to be slidably inserted, we opted for a mechanical interface. You’ll notice that the legs “scissor” into position, creating a locked mechanism. Further, this mechanism ensures that there is no possibility of the plate EVER coming out. You can rest assured that your target will deliver performance. Further, you can spend more time shooting, less time worrying about janky systems.
Robust, reliable construction
You can choose from the Grounder 500, or you can choose from the Grounder 550. Additionally, both systems utilize the exact same 1/4″ AR500 folding legs. Same hardware, same mechanics, same assembly. The core difference you need to choose between is the strike plate material. Are you more of a pistol shooter? The Grounder 500 may be the move for you. Do you shoot high volume rifle and high volume pistol? Then you likely want to go towards the Grounder 550. Think of the Grounder 500 as the entry target for the less frequent shooter. Further, the Grounder 550 is for SERIOUS shooters. Those who need and desire ONLY the highest performance.
Does that make the Grounder 500 less worthy of being on your range? Absolutely not! The Grounder 500 is elegant. Further, you will be impressed by the cost to value ratio of the Grounder 500. If you have questions about which is right for you, please email us before ordering. We are happy to help you decide.
Loud, reliable feedback shot after shot
The Grounder 500 and Grounder 550 produce a crystal clear “ping” with each and every impact. This keeps your range training moving forward. Further, the immediate feedback helps you reinforce solid fundamentals, speeding up your training journey. Additionally, shooting steel is just good old fashioned fun. You’ll find more enjoyment from your range days and you’ll get more from them.

Proper Ammunition for Your Grounder Target
The Grounder 500 can be used with FMJ, Lead Core, Lead soft point, lead hollow point, solid cast lead, frangible, and even all copper projectiles, provided the 3,000 FPS muzzle is maintained. You can use the Grounder 550 with the same lineup of bullet types, but you can also use bi-metal projectiles with the Grounder 550. Additionally, Bimetal bullets spark upon impact. Please be careful if you are running this type of ammo as you could start brush fires. Do not use ANY form of armor piercing ammo. Further, disregarding this requirement is dangerous and it WILL void the warranty. Same goes for our distance ratings. Don’t mess around with our requirements! You will void the warranty at the least. Worst case: You could hurt yourself. Read your manual, always follow it to a Tee.
