Easy, Inexpensive, and a great training aid.

The 3X6 gong is extremely challenging and perfect for plinking on the range. Bullet impacts will result in a clear “ping”. This is purposefully crafted from Domestic AR500 Steel. Rest assured that this gong will last for a long, long time.

Note: We do not recommend using our Genesis Single Hole Gong Hanger for this plate. Rather, we recommend our T-Post Mount when using this gong due to its small size.

Postcard Steel Gong Target 3×6 is a crowd favorite. This target is the perfect way to get into our ultra-high quality target for a fraction of the cost of a Genesis system. Want to see how strong our steel is before buying a complete system? This is a great way to do just that. This target is made from the highest quality AR500 steel, made in the good USA. The same exact steel we use in our other Genesis systems. Save time, money and create less waste by training with this target on the range.

Many ways to hang this target = Versatility.

Some folks will hang these from shepherds hooks, some from 2X4’s, others will use self healing straps or a chain. Just make sure the target can swing freely when struck. The movement of the target reduces wear and tear. It also is a fantastic visual cue when shooting to see that you are hitting your target. In the center of the target is a 9/16″ square hole. This 9/16″ square hole is burned into the plate to mount 1/2″ Carriage bolts. This is also a great location for a hook for hanging.

Gong targets are a great way to experience shooting steel without spending a ton.

The cool part is that these are extremely efficient to produce and the price reflects that. This target ships unpainted.

    • Distance recommendations: Pistols 10 yards, ligh rifles 100 yards and further. Yeah, that’s a challenge!

*Please Note: While this gong IS made from 3/8″ AR500 steel, sustained rifle use will cause wear and tear over time. It was designed to be a pistol fundamentals target mainly. Rifles with 3,000 FPS muzzle velocity or less can engage at 100 yards, but that is not the recommended use for this gong. This is simply due to its smaller size. If you want larger options, consider our other Genesis Gong Targets.

Does This Product Fall Under Prop. 65 Warnings?
  • Maybe. Just in case, be sure not to eat the paint or lick the target before or after you’ve shot it. If you are just curious, led tastes horrible and will probably cause mental damage. If you have done it once you are likely to do it again. Handle at your own risk, if you choose, you may wear an industry grade hazmat suit and gas mask with a HEPA filter and good luck charm on your wrist.     I bought two of these 3×6″ targets and hung them on a cross board, one on each end, using rubber straps. Put them out at 400 yards for some fun with my scoped AR. Can’t imagine a more inexpensive target that’s a challenge and great fun. As with everything else I have from TA Targets, top notch quality.
