Tee Posts are readily available at almost every hardware store

Tee Posts are very common in most hardware stores. However, you should ensure you get the correct posts. ONLY the 1.25 LB/foot posts will work. Thicker, heavier posts are available, so be sure you are purchasing the correct ones. Also, Tee posts sometimes have damage from cutting to size. We highly recommend bringing your Tee Post Gong Mount WTIH you to the store. That enables you to test fit the bracket to the posts you plan to buy. It is rare, but sometimes Tee Posts are out of spec. They are not exactly precision posts, so be sure to verify before purchasing.

The Shape and size of the Tee Posts create a stiff system. This bracket is PERFECT for any of our Genesis Steel Target Plates.

What Size Tee Post and How Far Into the Ground Do They Go?

We recommend you purchase 60″ Tee Posts and then drive them into firm soil at least 12″. This is required to keep the post stabile. Loose ground could be difficult to make a sturdy platform. Test your soil, ensure that it will create enough rigidity that the target will be positioned properly and will not fall over.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1.) What makes the Tee Post Gong Hanger So Special?
  • This bracket removes the high cost of getting into steel target systems. Anyone can now afford to buy a TA Targets product and support our cultural missions. Buying USA Made doesn’t have to cost a fortune.
2.) Should I buy this Tee Post Bracket or a Complete System?
  • It really depends on your needs. If you are mostly concerned with the cost, the Tee Post Bracket does get you into shooting steel at a VERY aggressive price. The downsides of the Tee post are they aren’t as portable (You have to drive a post into the ground). Additionally, some soil types are NOT ideal for Tee posts. For example, loose soil may not provide enough rigidity to work well. Extremely hard and rocky soil will be very difficult to drive the post into.
3.) Will you need tools?
  • You will need to use a post driver or large mallet or sledge hammer to install the posts into the ground. BE CAREFUL USING ANY HAND TOOLS!
4.) Is this bracket safe?
  • Yes! The Tee Post Gong Mount will ensure your gongs have ample forward lean. Additionally, the single hole and spring combination will ensure energy is deflected downward towards the ground.
5.) What Distance Can I shoot the Genesis target systems at?
  • Please read the entire Genesis User Manual to understand the distance limitations of these plates/systems. Generally speaking Genesis steel targets can be engaged as close as 10 yards with pistols. With rifles UNDER 3,000 FPS muzzle, they can be used at 100 yards. Again, please FULLY read your user manual PRIOR to using any Genesis Steel Targets.
6.) What Is The Country Of Manufacture?
  • We manufacture these right here in SE PA. We source the materials locally from the USA . Standard steel (not armored) keeps the cost reasonable while the design creates a consistent and robust mounting method without overcomplicating the system.
7.) Which is better: The Genesis Systems or the Exodus Systems?
  • This question will be difficult to answer. For most people that just train occasionally, the Genesis line of steel targets will be the perfect place to start. You will find that these systems are affordable and still offer a ton of value to every customer. As with all our systems, if you use it properly it will serve you likely forever. The Exodus line is our premium line. It is THE standard for which all steel targets are measured. If you are a higher volume shooter, you may want to check out the Exodus Line of Steel Targets.Engage the Exodus Line of Steel Targets at close range with confidence. Additionally, they feature a bit higher grade of steel.
8.) Is adjustable forward lean really that important?

The Genesis Line of Steel Targets do NOT feature adjustable forward lean. If you desire an adjustable lean angle, you should consider the Exodus Line. The Exodus line of targets all feature adjustable lean angles, which means systems are able to be adjusted to suit your needs. Additionally, this ensures high performance at closer distances with rifles.

9.) Does This Product Fall Under Prop. 65 Warnings?
  • Maybe. Just in case, be sure not to eat the paint or lick the target before or after you’ve shot it. If you are just curious, led tastes horrible and will probably cause mental damage. If you have done it once you are likely to do it again. Handle at your own risk, if you choose, you may wear an industry grade hazmat suit and gas mask with a HEPA filter and good luck charm on your wrist.
