AR550 12″ GONG

This gong is available in 3/8″ or 1/2″ AR550 steel. This is the same, high-quality steel used in our complete target systems.

Gong targets are the least expensive way to get into shooting steel. Our AR550 gongs are curated from the EXACT same material as our complete target systems. This means you get a very strong, high quality plate for an amazing price. Each gong features 9/16″ Square holes that work well for 1/2″ carriage bolts and straps. OR you can purchase our Conduit Gong Hanger System OR 2X4 Sawhorse Gong Target Hanger.

Note: This target does NOT include hardware. Bolts and nuts can be purchased HERE. Gongs ship for FREE in the lower 48 states and will ship unpainted or primer red. Finish MAY vary due to manufacturing processes.

AR550 14″ Gong

Gong targets are often looked at as a “plinking target”. While it is true: You CAN plink on this target, it also has real world application. 14″ is a larger size plate and is perfect for all types of training. Whether you are using your pistol or your long gun, the 14″ gong will serve you well. This plate is especially suited for longer distance shooting with bolt action or precision rifles.

The steel used in our 3/8″ or 1/2″ AR550 14″ gong is the exact same steel we use in our A-DAP target system. Rest assured, this is purpose built steel, not leftover scraps of junk material like some companies. You will see years of service out of this gong target.

  • Pistol Use (9mm, .40, .45) 10 yards minimum
  • Magnum Pistols: 25 Yards
  • Rifle Use: 100 yards
  • *Note: Light Carbines (5.56/.223, 300 BLK, 5.45X39, etc.) may be used at closer distances if proper mounting and proper ammunition are used. Gongs (both 3/8″ and 1/2″ AR550) should never be used closer than 50 yards with these calibers. Put first rounds on target at 50 yards, inspect. If no damage is present, your current ammo/caliber/rifle combo is acceptable to use at 50 yards. If minor pitting occurs, increase distance or switch ammo. Distance ratings are determined with ammo that has a 3,000 FPS MUZZLE velocity. Faster ammo will require further distances.
Does This Product Fall Under Prop. 65 Warnings?
  • Maybe. Just in case, be sure not to eat the paint or lick the target before or after you’ve shot it. If you are just curious, led tastes horrible and will probably cause mental damage. If you have done it once you are likely to do it again. Handle at your own risk, if you choose, you may wear an industry grade hazmat suit and gas mask with a HEPA filter and good luck charm on your wrist.
