Description

Dry Fire USPSA 18 Pack

The Dry Fire USPSA 18 Pack is a combination pack of a few different size targets specifically designed for dry fire practice.

What is Dry Fire practice?

Dry firing is simply having an unloaded weapon and pressing the trigger to activate the firing pin, sear, or hammer. Contrary to popular belief, you can safely dry fire with modern firearms. Rimfire weapons are the general exception, but most striker fired guns are perfectly acceptable.

How does Dry Firing help shooters train?

Dry Firing is a powerful tool. One that should NOT be ignored. The more you handle your firearms, the more comfortable you become. Making your firearm second nature is critical to operating it well in live fire. Dry firing allows you to work on drawing, sight picture and sight alignment, trigger press, grip, target transitioning and more. The best part is that the actual training costs you nothing but your time…and a pack of these targets of course! You can train inexpensively AND effectively at the same time. One thing to remember: Dry fire practice does NOT replace live fire. It compliments it. Use Dry fire to build a foundation, THEN go hit the range to do some live fire practice.

Frequently Asked Questions:
1.) Is it safe to dry fire my weapon?

Answer: Generally, yes. There is a ton of bad information out there saying you cannot dry fire your gun. This is almost always false. SOME older firearms and rimfire firearms should not be dry fired. Consult your manual before dry firing.

2.) Should I dry fire with loaded mags to replicate weight?

Answer: You should not dry fire with a loaded weapon. You CAN purchase or hand load dummy rounds to mimic the weight of a loaded magazine. This is beneficial for reload drills and programming your movements to actual loaded mags without the risk of introducing ammo to your dry firing. It only takes one slip up to make a life altering decision. Train smart, don’t use live ammo.
