Phoenix Spring Reset Kit

This is our Spring Reset Kit for the Phoenix Plate Rack. This kit includes everything needed to install springs behind your Phoenix Paddles. In doing this, your paddles will automatically reset after being struck. This is ideal for longer distance shooting with calibers up to 308 winchester and thus removes the need for the cable reset from distance.

This spring kit is also ideal in situations where shooters are unable or not allowed downrange to reset systems, or the range desires targets that automatically reset for ease of operations.

Installation is extremely easy and takes only about 5 minutes. No tools are necessary for install. For new Phoenix owners or current owners looking for extra versatility from their plate rack, this is an amazing option.

Why should you consider purchasing the Phoenix Spring Kit?

The Phoenix spring kit allows users to convert their Phoenix Plate Rack to an automatic resetting target. There are many situations where this might be more ideal than the pulley reset. For example, long distance shooting with bolt action rifles on the Phoenix would be less than ideal. It would be nearly impossible to have enough cable to reset the system. In this situation, users should install the spring reset kit. Paddles will rotate fully downward with impacts, signaling a successful hit. After that, they automatically reset.

One important thing to note: The spring reset kit does NOT affect the pulley reset mechanism. You will only need about five minutes and you will not need tools to install the spring kit. The Phoenix was designed with forward thinking and expansion in mind.

Included within the kit:

  • (6) Clevis Pins that are 1/2″ Diameter
  • (6) hairpin clips to secure clevis pins
  • (24) Bushings (Materials may be bronze, steel or other depending on supply chain and material pressures)
  • (6) custom wound springs

Frequently Asked Questions:

Should I consider the Spring Kit?
  • If you desire to have auto reset capabilities with your Phoenix, own a range where you do not want shooters going downrange or using a cable reset, or simply want all the options available then we would say it is worth considering.
Should I run one spring or Two?
  • You should run one spring if you are running lighter calibers like 5.56 NATO or pistol caliber carbines. You should CONSIDER running two springs if you are shooting calibers similar to 308win or larger. Maximum caliber on this plate rack at 100 yards should be 300 win mag. Note that using larger calibers will wear out the springs quicker and these calibers will be more abusive to the system as a whole. If you use one spring, you will need to use FIVE bushings per basket. If you run TWO springs, you only need FOUR bushings per basket. See photos and look at them carefully.
What is the lifespan of the spring kit?
  • This really depends on the calibers used and the volume of fire. The springs will wear out over time. The good news is that the springs are inexpensive to replace. We have these custom wound for us in bulk so we have plenty on hand. If your springs begin to wear out, contact us and we will help you get the right springs to replace the ones you currently have. You can also double up springs on the clevis pins in the event that you are using larger calibers with more energy.
Does This Product Fall Under Prop. 65 Warnings?
  • Maybe. Just in case, be sure not to eat the paint or lick the target before or after you’ve shot it. If you are just curious, led tastes horrible and will probably cause mental damage. If you have done it once you are likely to do it again. Handle at your own risk, if you choose, you may wear an industry grade hazmat suit and gas mask with a HEPA filter and good luck charm on your wrist.
