Round Steel Target Base
In 2015 we kicked off our company with a Round Steel Target Base. We became known for that base over the years, and thousands upon thousands of citizens just like you purchased them. They were famous for their durability, ease of use and setup, and extreme resistance to wear and tear. As material costs and our machinery/manufacturing capabilities changed and expanded, we ultimately moved away from the welded bases. Toward the end of 2022 we finalized a new design for a portable base. That base eventually was dubbed The Breakdown Base. We launched this base to solve the ever growing need of our customers to be able to replace components on their bases.
This left a void in our lineup, and our customers spoke up.
In the time since ending the original welded base, many customers have reached out and requested that we bring a version of that back to life. While the Breakdown Base solved the issues of better portability and a more serviceable base, it didn’t fit perfectly for EVERY customer. We decided that the only solution to the problem was to launch the third generation of our 20″ Round Steel Target Base.
Notable Features of this Base
This base is simple and it is robust. It arrives fully assembled. Additionally, you need no tools to get to shooting. The center slats are welded and they accept our Breakdown Base Tube. A notable advantage is the fact that the paper holders and the 2X4 tube are replaceable. Anything downrange can eventually be shot. When this happens, you can rest assured that your investment is not wasted. Simply order a new Breakdown Base Tube or new Paper Holders. You’ll be back in action shooting and training in no time at all.
Balanced & Purposeful.
The base positions the 2X4 post perfectly to keep the center of gravity over the middle of the base. Additionally, the 360 degree round design creates a very planted system. Moving your targets around on the range is easier than ever. The round design resists snagging while moving your targets around. This base is suitable for all terrain types and all shooting styles. As with all our products, this base is manufactured right here in Pennsylvania. Built for serious training by those who desire to be more capable with firearms.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
1.) Why did we decide to add the welded base back to the lineup?
Answer: The reality is: we want to make systems that serve all types of shooters. Although the Breakdown base is an amazing product, it doesn’t serve ALL citizens.
2.) Should I choose the Breakdown Base or the Welded Round Base?
Answer: This answer really depends on your needs. If you are mostly looking for an ultra-portable solution, the Breakdown Base will be for you. Folks who have smaller vehicles or want to fit more steel in their car might want the Breakdown Base. The Gen 3 welded base is for anyone looking for a fast, robust, simple to use base. If you find value in unboxing, slamming your base onto the ground, and getting right to training, go with the welded base. Additionally, if you like the simplistic nature of the welded base, that’s a solid option.
3.) Do I need to assemble this base?
Answer: No, this base is shipped fully assembled and ready to use. Unpack, throw it on the ground, get to training in seconds.
4.) Are the components replaceable?
Answer: Yes! The 2X4 tube and paper holders are replaceable. You can find the paper holders HERE. You can find the Breakdown Base 2X4 Tubes HERE. If yours ever get damaged simply replace them.
5.) What Size Wood Boards Do I Need For The 2X4 Tube And Paper Holder Tubes?
Answer: A standard 2X4 works fine for the 2X4 tube. It will fit “looser” than previous bases. We oversized this tube slightly to assist in removal of boards in damp environments. As far as paper holders are concerned, either use 1X2 furring strips OR the BEST option is to use our custom paper holder sticks. You can find them HERE.
6.) Where Are These Products Produced?

7.) Does This Product Fall Under Prop. 65 Warnings?
Answer:Maybe. Just in case, be sure not to eat the paint or lick the target before or after you’ve shot it. If you are just curious, led tastes horrible and will probably cause mental damage. If you have done it once you are likely to do it again. Handle at your own risk, if you choose, you may wear an industry grade hazmat suit and gas mask with a HEPA filter and good luck charm on your wrist. 9.) Does The Base Come With Any Targets Or Other Brackets?
Answer: No. You are purchasing the welded/assembled base. If you desire to create a complete system, shop our Target Mounts and our Target Plates.
10.) Do I need to stake this base to the ground? If so, HOW do I stake this base down?
Answer: For MOST people, staking is entirely unnecessary. You’ll notice that we removed the excessive holes around the perimeter of the base. Frankly, they added cost and almost nobody used them. In SOME situations, you may want to stake your base for added stability. In that instance, you would want to use stakes that can rest over the cross bars or vertical ledge of the base ring.
